How I walk 10k steps without a gym
Before I touched a single weight, walking did most of the early work. It’s free, it doesn’t make you sore, and it’s almost impossible to overdo. Here’s how I hit 10,000 steps without carving out extra time.
Stack it onto things you already do
- A 15-minute walk after each meal (also blunts blood-sugar spikes)
- Calls on foot instead of sitting
- Getting off one stop early on the commute
Make it pleasant, not a chore
A good podcast or playlist turns a walk into the part of the day I look forward to. If it feels like punishment, you won’t keep it up.
Consistency beats intensity. A walk you take every day beats a run you dread.
That’s it. No equipment, no membership — just movement you’ll actually repeat.
